Jefferson and Napoleon (2002) (Sold)

Painted in commemoraton of the bicentennial of the Louisiana Purchase. Jeffereson and Napoleon stand in front of Louisiana scenes they never saw. Napoleon's golden New World crown floats off into Jefferson's outstretched hand.

Fabulous picture. Wonderful symbolism. You've painted Jefferson's hand perfectly! I love this painting. I've just finished reading about Napoleon. When we were in the Palace of Versaille in March we saw that huge painting of Napoleon crowning himself emperor. (Typical Leo!!)
