Night Hawk, 18 x 24 inches, Acrylic on Stretched Canvas, 2011 -Original Available. A lone Red Tailed Hawk soars across the night sky, illuminated by the moonlight over the horizon. The silhouette of the hawk over the moon creates a striking contrast. An evergreen forest overlooks the starry sky. Cedric received tremendous feedback regarding a similar painting in 2007 named Night Owl. He is very thankful for the positive responses. Cedric Colond’s artwork has been exhibited in commercial galleries throughout Ontario for five years. Collections of fifty paintings are permanently displayed in Ottawa Hospitals, including a seven foot mural. The artist uses a variety of techniques which have been developed throughout his career: on canvas mixing, dry brush details, washes and chiaroscuro.
