My very first official commissioned piece. David is a Paladin, and a cowboy. (Yes the cowboy hat was an agreed upon element.) I know what you're thinking, "he looks more like a Ranger than a Paladin". Well... you're right, he does. My bad.
So, David is a southern gentlemen who presumably rousts the forces of evil in a classy way. I bet getting the snot pummeled out of you by this guy is nearly a pleasure!

The technical details:
Pencil sketch scanned and painted in Photoshop. How many hours? I'm ashamed to say. Well, I don't know for certain but it was a lot. I spent far more time on this than I had originally intended to. The most difficult aspect? The face and the hat. Ooooh the *hat*. I've learned something about cowboy hats... either it looks like a cowboy hat, or it doesn't . There is no "almost looks like a cowboy hat". All in all it was a wonderful learning experience as well. I even learned some new Photoshop tricks out of it.

Sold for $15.00. I may not be quick, but I sure am cheap! Update: I never did receive any money for this. Big thanks to the S.O.B. who commissioned it and then backed out.
