Stanley Ketchel Sitting Still for a Photoshoot

Stanley could rarely sit still for a photoshoot. On one of these rare occasions he is here, just barely smiling. His face probably hurts. In those days you fought to survive. Period. Stanley had just become the kind of boxer similar to today's. Bling, bling, and all that goes with it. Only, he had to, or did, box, perhaps twice in one week. As time went on, however it was not that often. Photographers must have had really big challenges. I think Stanley looks none the worse for wear. Check out his collar.

Carliss, this is astounding! Not just the collar, the tie, the "dent" in his lower lip ( I HAVE THE SAME ONE!), the light coming in from the right and the perfectly SKILLED contrasting shadows on the left. I LOVE this. It's a masterpiece!!

Artist Reply: Stan's dent is probably from getting hit in the mouth! Thanks, Janet! I so appreciate you!!
