Most steel produced today comes from recycled steel, not mining iron ore from the earth. Most of our scrap steel gets ground up and sent to China and India and then we buy it back as "cheap" imports! Sometimes I can catch it before this process begins and then I can create something out of it. This is a "skeleton" and what was valuable to the original user is what is missing: in this case knife blades! the remains are used for a privacy screen in my garden, and you KNOW why I need my privacy!

I have seen a lot of so-called "metal sculptors" at art fairs, but your work is the most impressive I have ever laid eyes on. This photo sure proves it!ruth sears 02 Aug 2009
