Hamadryad Lake

Hamadryad is a name for a type of tree nymph / wood spirit. They are creatures deeply tied to their individual trees. I've painted one such nymph - branches growing from and into her hair - in a rather animated tree (several green man style faces in there) in a mystical forest glade, next to a beautiful shimmering lake. Based off of a creek in Shawnee Mission Park, Kansas (good luck finding the nymph there!). (Pssst....PLEASE NOTE - in case you were worried, lol, there is no actual nudity in this painting!) My own original acrylic painting. ©Jasmine Becket-Griffith - prints are available at http://www.strangeling.com and http://zazzle.com/strangeling*
