Vessel in the sky

The castle of Peyrelade was one of the strongest and very atypical fortresses in the south of France (Aveyron). It was built on the rock in the early XIth century and overlook the valley and the entrance of the Tarn- gorges. It was destroyed by order of Richelieu. In 1480, 75 houses are clustered around the castle. Before the French revolution Peyrelade had 42 habitants and the last left 1963. Now the site is in restoration. Hope your enjoy the visit. Wow Stefani, that looks like such an awesome place. I loved touring the castles in Scotland, England and Wales, when I was there. This looks like one I'd love to see. Great shot.
