I like the idea of the melding of the hand into the material but would have preferred to see the 'join' be less harsh. The wall just above the hat and then leading down to the right of the photo to join almost where the shoulder and flag? might have worked better if separated from each other more. The colour blending in the wall works very well, and the facial expression works.
