Santa Muerte

"Santa Muerte" - also known as Santisima Muerte. Santa Muerte is a rising star in Mexican folk religion - she is the patron saint of prostitutes, gangsters, and those on both sides of the law. Santa Muerte is a saint of death and dark magic, often venerated on Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). I've shown her with a traditional shrine, with tequlia & tobacco. My own original acrylic painting. ©Jasmine Becket-Griffith - prints are available at http://www.strangeling.com and http://zazzle.com/strangeling*
