Return of the Monarchs

Each year monarch butterflies travel hundreds or even thousands of miles on their paper-thin wings. Many other butterflies also migrate south for the winter. Yet only the monarchs return north each spring...(excerpt from Monarch Butterflies: Mysterious travellers by Bianca Lavies) It was fascinating reading and enjoyed painting these beautiful monarchs, whom I have always loved... :)
