Under a Tin Roof

©Seth F. Weaver, Sr. 03/08/10. A lonely old cabin sits in the moonlight with light coming from its windows, what stories it could tell of the families and individuals that have seeked shelter from the elements under its tin roof. A new family waits on the crop to come in before moving on following the harvest in the Deep South of the USA. A DigyMix™ work.

Very nice work, Dad. I love the mixed media, the cross-hatching on the tree, and the highlights on the roof and windows. Very nice effect. Great job.

That tree is marvellous! How did you do this, Seth? I love all the different ways of shading.

Artist Reply: Always appreciated dear Anneke. I drew the tree with a pencil then I filled the image with cross-hatching lines to imitate the tree trunk and volume. An old form of art that I learned from studying comic books and relief printmaking.

Wonderful work, Seth!. I used to draw those lines you put on the tree :-) The effect is always effective.

Artist Reply: Thank you very much my friend for your comment. This just old fashion cross-hatching from my cartooning and printmaking days.
