Lady with a Bosch Egg

Lady with a Bosch Egg - with several nods to master Hieronymus Bosch - his fantastical elements - this piece really celebrates my love for medieval and renaissance art. This wide eyed renaissance beauty holds Bosch's strange egg creature amongst a desolate landscape, the muted colours really giving this painting an Old World feel. It was truly a joy for me to paint, and I can hardly stop looking at it myself! Hieronymus Bosch is a huge influence on my work - a big part of the reason I became interested in gothic and fantasy art. My own lowbrow big eyed take Bosch's work (also with hints of Cranach and da Vinci in there) - a celebration of my love for Art History in general as well. This is my own original acrylic painting. ©Jasmine Becket-Griffith - prints are available at http://www.strangeling.com and http://zazzle.com/strangeling*
