Alice in a Bosch Landscape

"Alice in a Bosch Landscape" is the title - possibly my favourite Alice in Wonderland painting I've done yet! And it's BIG! This is the first in my sub-series called "Alice in Other Lands" which are paintings featuring Alice in a variety of unusual circumstances. Here we have my Alice in a Hieronymus Bosch (15th Century surrealist) landscape. You can see Bosch's tree-man, giraffe, and several other nods to his landscapes. This is a painting celebrating my loves of Alice in Wonderland and renaissance art - no reason why the two shouldn't go together! I've always thought that Alice's adventures should continue into many other bizarre tales, and you can expect to see more from me in the future. Hieronymus Bosch is a huge influence on my work - a big part of the reason I became interested in gothic and fantasy art. My own lowbrow big eyed take Bosch's work - a celebration of my love for Art History in general as well. This is my own original acrylic painting. ©Jasmine Becket-Griffith - prints are available at http://www.strangeling.com and http://zazzle.com/strangeling*
