Sadly, this old house has obviously been long neglected. It would be interesting to know the history of such a place, located behind a Dairy Queen in Fairfield, Texas.

Beautiful capture. I guess it has seen its better days, but now it will live on forever.

Such an elegant, beautiful home. So sad to see it in such forlorn condition.

Great old place!

I love this photograph. I agree the house was beautiful at one time- still is - in a different way. Top floor, look to the lower right of the smaller right window, where the glass is laying on roof. look above it, unless that is trash, there is a face with a hat looking at the photographer. SERIOUSLY! use magnifyer if u cant see it. beautiful shot!

YOU CAN TELL THAT IT WAS ONCE A PROMINENT BEAUTY, BRENDA. GREAT AND INTERESTING SHOTS. VERY SAD TO SEE THIS; SO MANY HOMELESS PEOPLE IT COULD'VE HOUSED.

I love looking at old houses like this, there used to be one in Maine, the nash house, claimed to be haunted,we used to hear a phone ringing in it often when no one had lived in it for over 2 years,it had the coolest maze and was huge, this is a very interesting building.

A fine house in it's day, for sure.
