Bridled

A painting about the restrictions felt by women in today's "liberated" society. There is a very direct theme running through this piece but I am more interested in how it is interpreted by the viewer.

I Like the Theme,and Thought Process.I Think the World Is Changing Quickly.Most Men In My Neighborhood Make Less Than Their Mates.Half Of Those Men,Can't Even Get a Job.Women are Surely Succeeding In This "Man's" World.Thought Provoking Work,Joanna!

i see this as a woman bound by what society thinks women should look like, and also by the media portraying women as #@& objects. i really like it, the yellow just jumps out at you. awesome work!

i view it as emotional constraint...yours. But also, the paintings creation expresses release from this restrictive repression. :)
