Ugly with a capital U!

I know they are really ugly birds, but how often do you get a chance to get this close to a Turkey Vulture!

Nah! he is Magnificent!! Nice shot! I think they can sense your feelings, I took a shot of one last week or so. My nephew and some people were saying negative things about this beautiful creature and he slowly backed off into a corner in the dark and hung his head, it was soooo SAD. I felt horrible. We were at the zoo the other day when it happened. I tried to get some shots of him and I could have cried he looked so hurt. I felt his great pain. Pehaps he is not considered lovely by some but, this bird was also created by the master and serves a purpose in life as well as any other. It made me think of how we judge by outward appearances and not the soul of things. Sorry I just felt bad for the guy. I am trying to see the world for it's spiritual meaning. I don't mean that you don't, I just mean we are so mistaken so many times by the obvious and do not look deep enough into the world and its' life... sometimes. I am trying to change my views on things like this. At one time I might have reacted this way too, but not after seeing this birds distress and shame. Have a great day. Take care CB

Nice close up,I would try burn in/tone down the rock if you can as it takes your eye away from looking at the vulture. but it is a good shot of the vulture.

I tried once and failed, he flew off before I could get my camera ready.
