As an avid dog lover, i want to commend you on your exceptional dog portraits. When taking pictures of my red and white Irish Setter or Mikey, my English Setter, I often focus on their eyes to get the most soulful portraits. Of course I also love to shoot their delightful antics. You have captured the essence of German Shorthair Pointers with great realism capturing their soul and beauty inside and out. You also have captured the difference in expression between the adult dog and the pup showing the life force and exuberance of the puppy's spirit.

Artist Reply: Julie, Please forgive me for taking so long to respond to your wonderful comment. We have a German shorthair as well as a Weimeraner. I am thrilled that my love for these dogs shines through.I need to paint my own dogs when I can get a good photo of them. Thanks again. God Bless, Jennifer

Thanks for commenting on my work Jennifer. I was curious, so I had to check out your portfolio! You are definitely talented, with such diversity in your work. I love these dogs - expressive eyes, lovely detail. I'm glad you included the zoomed in version, we can see your hair texture and everything up close. If I could suggest anything for improvement, I would say to work just a little more on not "outlining" your animals - see the right dog's back? It has a fairly solid dark line. Once you can fade that into the fur, you will achieve a slightly higher level of realism. Luckily, you already have the eyes perfect - that is what makes the picture! Keep up the wonderful work! :)
