After searching for cicadas making lots of noise in the trees, this one gave me all the shots wanted. Maybe it was nearing death as it refused to stay in the grass where I placed it, returning to the cement.

The cement is warm and the grass contains predators it may not see coming.

Artist Reply: everything is hot here! my take on it was that it was very likely to get run over in the parking lot and/or eaten by a bird because there was no camouflage~
