Occasionally, while hiking the Skookum Flats Trail, you get a glimpse of the Palisades across the valley. This rock formation is about 4 miles long and never ceases to amaze me with it's beauty. (There is a difficult 4 mile hike to the top of the rocks, but sooooo worth the view!!) The top half of the 400 ft. Snoquera Falls is seen in the shadow of the rock. (It is a nice 2 mile hike to the base of this waterfall.) The second shot is from another spot on the trail. Here you see the Palisades and the White River, that is not white this day. This means that the water is coming from snowmelt and rain. The glacier ice at the beginning of this river hasn't started to melt yet. When it does, the river will turn white with glacier silt. Somewhere between the river and the Palisades is Hwy 410. Thanks for visiting, my friends!!!
