Trees #2 Armando's Challenge

Sharon De Vore Gonzalez's Facebook profile Armando Salas challenged me to paint “Trees” in abstract. Again I want to thank Rob Cobb for the use of his beautiful photo. I tried to keep the integrity of Rob’s photo, make “Trees” abstract and have fun painting it. I think that I have achieved those 3 things; I certainly know that I did the last one. Thank you, Armando, for creating this challenge for me and thus, this painting, that I call“Trees #2". Besides regular acrylics, I also used pearlized and metallic acrylics. So in some parts from different angles & lighting you see different sheens & shines. I hope that you all enjoy!

Robert Cobb 15 May 2009

Hey another really cool rendidtion Sharon, what I really like about this one is the tactile quality, love that you can "feel" the leaves !! If the pearlised paint is on the trunks of the trees it would be perfect because when the sun sets on gums they glow like becons!! I am posting another tree pic today,From the same tree group, in which the colours have been enhanced..but not changed to show this. Well Done Sharon, another beauty! :) Rob

Donald Schrier 15 May 2009

I like your use of colors in this one Sharon. I do not know it this is really abstract as you have really drawn on the actual shape of trees and your surounding folage is very realistic. I would think this would be more impressionistic but never the less it is well done.

Anneke Hut 15 May 2009

I love your trees, abstract or realistic, no matter what, you've got the talent.
