Alone Tree

Alone Alone I stand in these woods. Nothing but silence from the creatures that feel the shared sorrow. We grieve for the loss of the woodsman. Alone I stand here waiting. Feeling unsure of what tomorrow may bring. His flesh now nothing more than ash. Alone and broken is how I feel. I pray for the woodsman to still guide me. His spirit soars high above my branches. Alone and I can not touch or see him. Lingering tears leave behind the taste of salt. We weep from his departure of this earth. Alone I feel in the darkened shadows. Seeking the drumming of the heartbeat from the woodsman. His drum sits alone with no master to play. Alone I stand in these woods. Nothing but silence from the creatures that feel the shared sorrow. We grieve for the loss of the woodsman. © Kandice Thompson 09 In memory of me beloved father whom passed away from this planet unexpectedly and without regret on February 15th, 2009. This ancient tree may not look that large but in person it would take over 8 people with arms extended to reach all the way around it. Since childhood I have visited these wise granddaddy trees hidden in the sacred woods.

Good photo--I've always loved to take shots of trees also---they all have character and beauty
