acrylic on wood skateboard deck, approximately 7.75"x31" Yes, it's my savior, Jesus Christ. I find it odd that so many people paint Jesus like a pretty male model. The Bible describes Him as plain or even ugly. We also see Christ depicted as soft and fuzzy, when in fact (again, based on Gospel scriptures) he was rebellious against religious leaders, scornful of His hypocritical followers, and angered to the point of flipping over tables when thieves were selling stuff in God's temple. Yes, Christ is love, but who says love is dainty and sweet? I wanted to paint Jesus as the Bible describes Him. Serious and stern. This piece is part of my "Proof of Faith" solo exhibit at Art Whino.
