Artist Reply: You have a very keen 'artist's eye,' Joselito. I use the full range of graphite hardnesses: from 8B to HB to 8H & everything in between, along with kneaded rubber erasers and art-gum, as well as MARS plastic, all on Bristol board, but sometimes Strathmore or Canson 'Sketch.'
