Archway Pietà

Photographed Michelangelo's Pietà in Rome and put it in a collage of stock photos. Kokopelli is paying homage with a funeral dirge.

First Class, has the look of a story here and the skillful craftsmanship, deservedly to win a whole new set of fans.

Artist Reply: Thank you very much John. It's always nice to see positive feedback about an image (Archway Pietà) that's been sitting there for awhile without any comments. I had a lot of fun putting this together in PhotoShop. Appreciate your stopping by to take a look.

I have never seen La Pietà in this way... very interesting composition! searching a mean for me is the moon! the world has own pain while planets run in the Universe :)

Artist Reply: Thank you very much for your comments, Alessandra. I find the Pietá the most spiritual sculpture in the world. I appreciate your having a look.

An interresting collage. I am curious though - were the stock photos you added chosen by chance or for any particular reason(s)? Regardless, it's enjoyable:)

Artist Reply: Thank you for stopping by and commenting. I was in "collage mode" in my early days of learning PhotoShop. I would collect random images (mostly samples of stock photos) and then just start assembling something when I thought I had enough complementary elements. The archway struck me as the perfect background. Kokopelli, the Indian flute player, was already a favorite of mine and I wanted him to play a prominent role in this image. The glass paperweight and the wood and metal frame are effects created with PhotoShop WOW. Glad you like it.
