As the Spiral provides broad symbolic meaning in many cultures I have sought to capture the immortal presence of the Sun and presented it here through the interlocking spirals of the Rauponga, and its flaming tendrils are the Toetoe plumes. Born to light a new day of innumerable possibilities the Sun continues its passage on into dusk and then night, only to be reborn again through a new dawn thus continuing the cycle of eternity. © 2009 Susan Haywood Smith
