Wooden Horse

These entwined Celtic Horses are to be found carved into a standing stone not too far from a famous Scottish Golf course, the original design looks a lot different from my variation but I have I think kept it in a recognizable form true to the ancient art of the Celts

cathy, I have never seen the original, but you have captured the celtic feel. I really like it. What is the wood?

Artist Reply: Thanks so much Mike, the wood is rather special in many ways, it is Scottish Caladonian Pine, extreemly resinous and a fallen victim after a gale, the forest is several hundred years old on the side of a hill and local landmark in the Grampians of Scotland, this wood was growing in a hut circle too! This subject to keep you waiting I shall cover when I upload an image of another carving from this tree that also took me three days to get down of the hill! Not forgetting special thanks to the Landowners who allowed me to take the wood`Roger & Beth'.
