Artist Reply: Thanks Anneke, the concept came by the following...Proverbs 7:2 says, Keep my commands and you will live; guard my teachings as the apple of your eye. The meaning of the phrase apple of your eye is precious or favorite. In the original language it literally means deepest blackness and refers to the pupil of your eye. The center of the eye, the pupil, considered to be the most important part of the eye, and the center of eyesight. Theory is the pupil the center of the soul? If so, it sure gives the artist another outlook that doesn't get much attention. Think about it, what an interesting art movement that would be. Every soul on this earth are basically the same. We all have generally the same human instinct, such as love, hate, fear, insecure, general feelings, health the list goes on. Sure our race, beliefs and culture are different, but in a general way we all breathe the same air, if no air we would all die. I truly believe the iris is a reminder that God is very real. We can separate the "flesh" and look deeper into the iris, by looking at your family, friends, passer-bys eyes, it's the strangest observation any artist is able to do. Use that knowledge and apply it in your own medium. I believe with this talent, here on ArtWanted, that a movement non other before can take place but for the others, just think about it, and look at everyone tomorrow of whom you may encounter, look at their eyes, their iris color, their soul.
