American Saddlebred student

Watercolor painting of an American Saddlebred, equiped with a training caveson. Frame sie 11x14, image size 10 1/2 x 7 1/2. I was pleased with the impact this had even at a smaller sie. I did this in response to a request to donate a work for a fundraiser to benifit a local group that provide care for terminally ill individuals. My dad received great care and in their hands 5 yrs ago. I was happy to help.

Debbie, This peice turned out very nicely. I love the way the colors interplay with eack other. The framed peice looks very nice as well. Great Job! Will you be making prints of this peice available for purchase? ~ Brad

Artist Reply: Many thanks Brad for your comments and I did not make prints of this image and no longer have it available to work from , but am most encouraged to know you feel it is print worthy.

This in incredible. I love the way you've painted the horse's hair. And the background just ties it all together. I envy your watercolor skills.

A very beautiful horse, and wonderful painting! I don't understand the purpose of the "training caveson"... it is very strange looking!

Artist Reply: They can look a bit combersome but come in very handy when dealing with a young animal in early stages of training. It allows the handeler to be attached to the front and top of the horses nose with a long line, it is harder for a horse to pull or resist when attached here verses the side or underneath. It is kinder for them and easier for trainer to maintain control while tring to teach them at the same time. It is harder for them to use their strength agisnt you. Thus learning self carraige and their own balance. I realized that including the caveson would limit its appeal. Thanks for the numberous comments and the support of my work.
