Delicate line-drawing and contours and vibrant color "splotches" in between that livens up the, otherwise, b/w canvas - well done! Question (can´t help asking): What connection did Mercury and Persefone/Persephone have, apart from him being a sort of "psychopomp" and her being the Queen of the Underworld (for parts of the year)? By the way; Mercury got connected to a lot of goddess-chicks, though, during the Roman Empire (like the Gallo-Celtic goddess Rosmerta) a s o, but I don´t know about this particular pairing in your excellent image, so if you have a word or two to spare, I would be obliged...
Artist Reply: Thank you for your kind comment. In fact this is a detail of one of my paintings (4 seasons) for which I chosen 4 different ancient Gods/deities to represent each season. Persephone represents Autumn and Mercury the winter. Spring has been Venus and Summer the Cupid. I don't know by which logic I chose them (not really connected) but the painting became very nice (I sold it) but I couldnt help to keep a detail, the one you see.

Like handpainted china - very unusual and pleasant.
