I grew up with the aftermath of Word War II . As children we played on bomb sites old houses that were left from the bombing. Our parents warned us not to go near any metal objects for fear that they may be unexploded ordnance. Although designed to "break the enemy's will", the bombing of Britain by Germany had the opposite effect. The British did not crumble under the German bombing and other air raid early in the war. British workers continued to work throughout the war and food and other basic supplies were available throughout. The images of bombed out buildings has stayed with me and probably will stay with me for the rest of my life… This work from an old family photograph….
