Prayer of St. Francis

Lord make me an instrument of Thy peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen

Very beautiful and spiritual. Although I am Jewish, I have read several books on St. Francis. I can't believe in him like a saint or anything, sicne I am not a Christian and I don't believe in saints. But I love his prayer and I love it that he loved animals. I have babies chickadees already at my feeders and they are actually landing on me. It is a spirtual exhileration to have wild birds trust you to land on you. This painting reminds me also of the Hand of Heaven coming down to reach our hands on earth. Good job. Thanks also for your suggestion. I will make a cake. B'Shalom, Adelle
