A Bohemian Waxwing. As the name suggests, the wingtips and tailtip appear to have been dipped in wax. It is suspected that the color comes from the pigments of the berries they eat. In courtship the male will hop towards a female and offer her a berry, she will take it and hop away, then she hops back towards the male to offer him the berry in return. Taken at Hayward Lake, Mission, B.C.

Beautiful little bird, I think flamingos are also coloured by the food they eat? I love the little yellow tail.
