I am self-taught and my favorite software is an old Painter Program, 5.5.
I have newer ones, by Corel, but they are not nearly as intuitive.
KPT, (Kai's Power Tools), especially the old ones, KPT 3 and 6 allow me to use gels and vortexes which I dearly love.
