It's always a challenge to draw popular figures. Everyone knows what they look like and even a few millimeters off becomes glaringly apparent. You did capture the Governor and the use of black and white is always very dramatic.
I disagree with too poutie. If anything, when I'ld see this guy on the street, I'ld better have something very serious to say to him---or---get out of his way----I think your pencil technique is a signiture particular to you and it's very dramatic,(your use of lighting and shading, etc.) and impressive . we all tweek and improve our individual styles and hopefully get better as time goes on------your professional, artistic evolution will be fun to watch!---------------------------Jim.
Artist Reply: Wow Jim - thank you for such an unbelievable comment on my artwork. You have humbled me at the same time as giving that boost of confidence I'm not very good at giving myself:) Thank you for taking the time for looking and commenting it means a lot from such an outstanding artist as yourself.
Artist Reply: Thank you, I think he is not quite harsh enough and maybe a bit pouty as I had problems with his mouth. Hmmmmm, I might try a Harrison Ford one next:)
