Anne Vis 31 Jul 2008

Fantastic creation, Chas! :-)

Artist Reply: Thanks Anne - there was a lot of jumping in the studio that fine day I don't mind telling you - the poor gaffer that had to catch her each time is going to be fine though - recovering nicely ~:0)

Nelly van Nieuwenhuijzen 06 Jun 2008

FANTASTIC!!!!!

Artist Reply: Yeah she's a jumper eh? Thanks for the visit Nelly - next time you get free parking when you stop by - ~:0)

Alex Preiss 02 Jun 2008

I like the overall American feel in this artwork.

Artist Reply: "Of thee I sing......" Yeah thanks Alex - nofin like cheerleaders and T-Birds to make a statement about a great culture - you know we even have satellite radio in that old 56-bird - nice old ride - may even put seat-belts innit oneday - live dangerously I allis say ~:0)

Mary Ashton 02 Jun 2008

Ouch that looks painful :0) The words of the song go so well with this brilliant piece Chas. Mary

Artist Reply: Yeah Mary - you shudda been her catcher - thas an owie! - music invokes vision and likewise vision creates music - doesn't it?? thanks for stopping by ~:0)

Hiromi Green 25 May 2008

Great composition ~ wonderful image Chas! Excellent song with your work!

Artist Reply: Thanks Hiromi - you know I often whistle while I work - if you can call what I do work - if you love what you do, it's hard to call it such really - makes one want to jump cars - if you know what I mean ~:0)

ron sargent 25 May 2008

well done

Artist Reply: Ron thanks - there somfin about a '56 T-bird wif a happy sheila jumping offit, eh? ~:0)

ghawd chas these heavy realigis moments just brings me to maknees

Artist Reply: Indeed JM - goes to show even full-sized folk can do gymnastics once - she had a couple of rough landings but our gaffer Larry broke her fall for her - I think he had a thing for her - musta worked out - haven't seen either ovvum the last few days and me old Indian with the side-car is missing from its spot in the stall - hope it works out - I miss that bike already ~:0)

Steve Farr 22 May 2008

Don't you just Luv a pom pom girl leaping over a great looking car to avoid certain death? Me too!!! This is awesome imagery, Chas!!! I still can't get over her flexibility!!LOL!! ~S

Artist Reply: Steve our gaffer Larry let slip at the session that she's extremely flexible for a big girl - whatever that means - and yeah we had a few extra hoods on hand should they be needed - oh and replacement bonnets for the car as well ~:0)
Artist Reply: Oh and Steve - thas what I luv about painting - one can put the pom-pommer wherever she's needed - as opposed to photography which always frustrated me because it was allis so difficult to make the pics I wanted - one can shoot'er onna floor and paint'er hanging from sky-hooks offa the nose of the statue of liberty if need be - speaking of SofL - we screened Cloverfield at the studio movie-night the other and it was brilliant!!! So engaging - it was like being there - recommended ~:0)

Barry Huyett 22 May 2008

good song and piC!

Artist Reply: Thanks Barry - I understand that music has the power to tame the savage breast - if it or they needed taming I suppose - how about a hand for the '56 T-Bird - bewdy eh? ~:0)

Gavin North 21 May 2008

This is really cool Chas I love your choice of imagery and text, it makes for an interesting composition. It amazing how a song can make you feel allot of the music I listen too, often reflects part of who I am. excellent work my friend.

Artist Reply: Thanks Gavin - yeah good job I'm an old Beatles fan for this series - guess I've been thinking about the pics in this series for yonks ~:0)

Loredana 21 May 2008

Ra Ra Baby you can jump my Car ::Excellent work Mate :)

Artist Reply: Yeah Lore - we had to use seven cars to get this one just right - she kept falling short and taking out the bonnet - those dings don't come out easily as you may know - then it dawned on me - use a camera to capture the moment and then paint from the fotos - amazing how modern miracles unfold before the eyes - and ears ~:0)

Bailey Hopper 21 May 2008

She's very 'bendy'. Awesome pic as always! Excellent song choice!

Artist Reply: You know Bailey it's always the models that weigh in at a hundred fifty or more pounds that want to do the high work - as we call it - we had to hire a special sky-hook crane to get her up there - keeping her up took a bit of juggling as well ~:0)

mel taylor 21 May 2008

Really cool image, Chas! How long did the model have to stay up there like that?? smile.... mel

Artist Reply: Ha! She was up there all day - we've been using sky-hooks for the past twenty years on pics like this one - had a lot of luck with 'em - very few catastrophic failures of the system - they don't blow often, but when they do nothing to do but swallow hard ~:0)

susan kinney 21 May 2008

very cool... love the car :)

Artist Reply: Thanks Sue - I love that car too - but I'll tell you a secret - new ones are a lot better - safer too ~:0)

Lior Goldenberg 21 May 2008

Awesome work you did here Chas! The gorgeous girl, the elegant jump, the car..... really great!

Artist Reply: Yeah thanks Lior - it all works together for those who love the pics, eh? Artists are the lucky ones ~:0)

Alberto D'Assumpcao 21 May 2008

Great and beautiful, Chas!!! Love the title: it's perfect!!!

Artist Reply: Thanks Alberto - often I have the title to a pic and then create it to work - you know how that is - it's fun!!! ~:0)
