THE BRONZE COWBOY

This is bronze artist extraordinaire, Don Hershberger. Don is 55 years old. He lives in nearby, Clark, Wyoming. Don has lived the life of a cowboy here in Wyoming for many, many years but he has always found the time to create. His bronze work consists of cowboys, horses, Native Americans and wild animals from the area. Don has several pieces in our gallery here in Cody. His work is phenomenal!

The piece is traditional oils on the Ampersand "Gessobord" Masonite. The size is 18" x 24" overall.

Hey Denny, my man...I was just browsing your site again and this one caught my eye because of the contrast in color of your blues againt the beige background as well as the composition. I also love the frame - where do you buy them? Take care and tell Leigh I said "Hi".

Hello again Denny. It's been a while. Our world is filled with art, but your work epitemizes the word 'ART'. You are a genius. Long may you produce work to this standard. Love, light and peace.

You do such a wonderful job of capturing the picture of the real people that live and lived in the west and your attention to detail is unbelievable.

When I see that AW has sent me a new image link for you, I start to get very excited because I know I'm going to see something so spectacular that I'll be left speechless. And you know what? You never let me down. This image is simply breathtaking, and I'm once again astonished at how you manage to create such incredibly detailed, realistic pieces that also exude such a life and warmth and feeling. The personality of this piece is exceptional. I'm really enjoying pouring over his face, the posture of his body, the loose, comfortable, confident way his hands are holding the tools of his trade - here you have allowed us to see the cowboy and the artist both. You have presented a man who loves the land he works and has learned great respect for it as he earned his callouses, and instead of being hardened by this lifestyle, as some have, the way of the cowboy has inspired and gentled his artistic heart, and he loves what he does. This is yet another GREAT painting, vibrant and true and it simply sings of the good and satisfying life of the Artistic Cowboy.

It's incredible how you do it every time, Denny. It's so realistically painted that it seems he could step out of that frame any minute! Beautiful frame too, btw. :)
