Anyone got a toothpick?

This little fella is just 4wks old. This baby Peregrine Falcon had just finished his sushi lunch. Peregrine's prefer to prey on small to medium sized seabirds, but can also quickly take down a bird as large as a Mallard. DDT was the cause of a decline, again tho, since the banning of DDT the Peregrines are making a dramatic comeback. Taken in ALdergrove at the GVZ, B.C.

very nice shot Pam of the Peregrine falcon(mom and chicks) how were you able to get shots at the zoon of them in the stages you showed?? were you a volunteer?? Nice images of wonderful falcons...

Artist Reply: Hi Gary, nice to see you! The Zoo has a exhibit area called Radical Raptors, they have a falconer (is that the right word?) who teaches kids all about the falcons and allows them to perch them on thier arms if they dare. I came after the show and he had the 2 siblings out to feed them so I walked over and talked with him and he let me take a couple shots of them. I was just tickled to be so close to them. They also have a Gyrafalcon, several small hawks and a Great horned owl. Thank You Gary for taking the time to view them all, pleased you've enjoyed them.
