Loose and quick drawing with wetmedia(Ink and food colouring) on newsprint. In the still life, the monkey was carved from a coconut, and the face is a paper mache mask. Despite the title, neither of the faces is a self portrait.
Wonderful transfer of color and image. Also very unusal in the topic and color source. Well done.
Artist Reply: The food colouring was something like $5 for a gallon. Great for using with students, and healthier than using dyes. The newsprint was also cheap, and better than other papers because of its absorbancy. We would also go through a lot of instant coffee to paint with.
