Pacal's Burial Garments

I took this photo (which is printed on canvas) at The National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City. It is of a display of the burial regalia of Pacal Votan, the King of Maya at Palenque, Mexico. He ruled from 603-683 AD. Copyright B. Marinelli 4/2007

Hey Barb! What a great gallery - I met you briefly at Gaian Mind - did the mayan cosmology workshop with my younger friend Paul - never did re-connect with Mark after I was you photographing but I hope we can connect again before our return to Mexico in September. I am addicted to Pacal and seeing this photo really set me off! Thanks so much! I am so impressed with the major work of this man's reign and his tomb I visited three years ago in Palenque... what a thrill that was - synchronistically it was his birthday and at the camp ground where we stayed there were lectures by three anthropologists that evening - we were amazed... later - love ya - gar (gary culp)
