For my celebration of the wonders of the Lenten season and Easter, here is my version of, 'The Sacred Heart' of Jesus. The Sacred Heart image has been around for some time, with many different versions, all having the same image of Christ, touching his wounded heart, filled with love and compassion. Typically, he is not as wounded bodily in the other examples, but I wanted to combine the sacrifice of his appearance, as well as the standard Sacred Heart. Radiant, but also deeply afflicted, knowing and understanding our own afflictions, as he felt them first. -size:5x7 -mixed media:graphite,watercolor pencil, pro art marker & acrylic touches
