A Bridal Journey on the Hardanger Fjord

This is another painting by the famous cat who lived in Christiania (Oslo) in the 1600´s, Felix fiigenschou. I am working to promote these ancient works of cat art from the era of the cats. This paintings shows a group of young cats on their way to a wedding reception in Hardanger. Cats are terrified of getting wet, so this journey must have been rather scary, although they seem to enjoy them self. Felix Fiigenschou did not enjoy his stay in the Hardanger Fjord. He writes in his 1632 diary that the steep mountains and the salt water made him sick. The National Gallery of Norway situated in Oslo, has a similar painting, but created by different artists. The two famous "national romantics" Adolph Tidemand and Hans Gude. They completed their version (One of several) of this scene in 1848, over two hundred years after the Felix Fiigenschou version. Cat art experts claim that Tiedemand and Gude copied the works by Fiigenschou, but conservative art historians have denied this opinion. When looking into the Norwegian art history, it is as if the cat art has never existed. This is something we are working hard to change in the future. We regret to inform that this piece is no longer available.
