This image of Shiva is carved on the side of a temple at My Son. This site was occupied during the Champa Dynasty from the 4th to the 12th century A.D. by the Cham culture. It is located in central Vietnam near Hoi An. The area sustanined heavy damage during the Vietnam war because Vietcong were using it as a base of opperations. It is now recieving funding to restore it. All of the buildings here are built out of brick, but no mortar was used in their constuction. It was pouring rain the day that we visited, so I'm glad some of my images are usable.
