Atitude for Medicine

Yesterday, my brother Arie said to me:" I think whenever I see you , you cough..."...And I replied.." So what's new about it ? "...It was like this most of my life I think...There were years I cough less, or none. I had 1 terrible year...AND... In the last year, I cough 11 months out of 12 months.(Some years are like that )I don't remember when I last saw, Roni my doctor, and even If I see him, I probably have the problem to take those inhalers He would have written to me...perhaps because I don't believe fully in their influence on my cough. Since I was a small kid (3) I suffer from what Dr. Vilsmerdorphrer used to call Allergic cough...Some call it Asthma. As a kid, I truly made A LOT of problems to swallow the pills, that I was given when I was ill. I think only when I was 13-14, I started to swallow some of the tablets I was given , only if it has the shape of capsule...And I also remember some of the antibiotics, I was given ...I simply throw away, without my parents know (I was 14-15 :-) Nowadays I take sometimes vitamins, when I remember to do so..Still I'm having the problem to swallow...I'm not sure if it's a fear, or a real physical problem of swallowing...simply, so many times it stuck in a terrible way in my throat. So,now I wonder how are you in taking medications...For LIFE Without cough...For health...Love, Nira P.S: Just imagine yourself, have to kiss someone, who is cough most of the time :-))...I don't think it's sexy...:-)

Very beautiful. Just the way I feel sometime about my medicine. So sorry you've had such a time. I remember when my children got coughs. I tried everything the doctor said. My father-in-law told me to get some "no cough". Had no idea what it was. He told me where to buy it in an old country store. It worked. Also, he told me to use honey and lemon juice (fresh) mixed equally. Also worked. I do not buy cough syrrups anymore, haven't for about 40 years. Probably wouldn't work for asthma, crimson clover tea with honey may be better for that.

Wonderful work Nira, love the colors! Sorry to read about your problem. We all have some I think. I do. But I believe that the only docter AM I! Just listen good to myself and don't "eat" "medicins" anymore. I had many and they told me that I did stupid things to throw them away but again I know better. Still I am alive and much better than ever before. You know, we are gods so we are perfect that's the only thing! An other way of thinking but really all the answers are inside. Remember what Sheakspeare said: "In ourself lies the healing which we attribute to the Heaven!"

Artist Reply: Dear Annette..thanks again my friend...I truly take almost NONE Medicne..only natural...and only when it's a must..and I can't suffer cough attacks. You are correct the answers ar inside of us...enjoy very much your positive thinking..Im usually positive in my thinking..especially to hep others...and trying my best with myself :-)..though sometimes more sometimes less...And I know that I must stay positive in my thinking all the time :-) GOOD NIGHT, Nira

Sorry about your Asthma Nira! My son has it too. Better take care with all your paints, solvents and mediums, they might be irritating it. I think you're fairly safe with your digital art...........no smelly mediums. It's beautiful too! Love it!

Artist Reply: Hello Rusty..I don;t think it's the mediums...BUT..The allergy for viruses...If i'm getting ill..it simply become an allergy..and I can't finish with the cough..you see it started at the age of 3..long time before I dreamed to be an artist... THANKS SO MUCH..Good night.

Gorgeous work my dear friend!!!!

John Fish 05 Feb 2008

very cool image and I like the way the colors graduate and blend together. I really relate to your story. I also grew up with asthma and allergies and sometimes take a pill automatically when others would think about it. I wake up every day congested the way most people feel when they have a cold. to me that is normal. I can't imagine not sneezing or coughing or having a slight headache from sinus pressure. It would be weird like something was missing.

Artist Reply: Hello Jhon..thanks for visiting me here. I'm sorry to hear about your allergic problems...indeed your story seems similar to mine.I'm not a doctor, you know ... Me personally have the problem to take medicine automatically and taking only in terrible conditions or when it's a MUST. There were times in my life that I suffer and took none at all. BUT...like you, I had time, that I simply could not suffer it, and had to help myself. There was time in my life, that I used to get up at night with about 400-500 sneezing, and could not sleep for few hours, because of it...(it was during my pregnancy of my son ,Yarin). I didn't want to take any medicine...but, it was not logical to sneeze that way...I later found out that there's a natural syrup...call protec kid, I used to have it at home because of my kids..And it did miracles to my sneezing...truly unbelievable, but it is a fact !..some say,it does not help, but for me, it saved me..and the minute I take it...usually less then a minute..I stop to sneeze. The same protec kid plus, help me truly at cough attacks. I don't for years take cough syrup...from few reasons, mostly because I felt that for me, personally it makes a much more difficult cough and MORE COUGH !!!...SO... I simply can't take it...also I heard once ,many years ago, from a doctpr that it's only cosmetic :-) The protec kid that I use is made in Switzerland, they have products for adults as well, over 60 years old. Please check this link : http://www.iaam.nl/coherence/msaima/198-6.HTML I know that in Israel you can also buy it through the internet. I always have it at home, and when I go on vacation, it MUST be with me. My very best wishes for you ,Jhon...For life without allergies, Nira
Artist Reply: P.S: Forgot to write the full name of my recommendation to you, Jhon...just right now my mom reminded me ;-)) SO HERE IT IS : PROTEC KID plus, By Herbamed, Swiss Buhler CH-9055 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vitamin C, also can help, in a way. and there's another product from HADAS, but I never tested it :-)

VERY INTERESTING! GREAT COLORS!

Julie Mayser 04 Feb 2008

Nira, this is so rich and gorgeous! All those tongue depressors!! Hehehe... As for asthma, not funny. I too have asthma, but have conquered it by seeing an allergist, and taking shots for ten years to desensitize. Also many other methods of keeping one's house less dusty ( dust mites) etc, etc. And I am a pastelist ( more dust!) as well. This is a wonderful creative work of art!

Artist Reply: Thanks Julie...Indeed it's not funny..but sometimes it's good to laugh at our problems , in stead of being depressed by it :-) ... I also visited allergist and he made me so many checks and tests.. But could not find the real reason for my cough ,or another terrible allergy problems, I used to suffer, that the second one is now behind me...The cough is still with me at times less or NONE..And sometimes it can be difficult...With hope for best times for YOU for me, or anyone else that know just a bit about these kind of problems... Best of health to ALL..Including the doctors :-))

Nira this shot reminds me of what it must be like for you to trying to swallow the pill. Art like this has a theraputic value in dealing with life experiences as yours. My prayers go to you that you can take your medicine without difficulty and that the cough goes away.

PS: LOVE YOUR ART WORK Nira... forgot to comment on that one ha ha ha! OLGA

Olga van Dijk 03 Feb 2008

Yeah it sounds very allergic to me.... As a child all winters I was sick with asthmatic bronchitis. So I feel for you... I take a cocktail of vitamins (and a flue shot) and now it's going so much better. It depends a little where I live (climate). Antibiotics are only helping if there's an inflammation (and fever) In the US they prescribe them too often. I wouldn't worry about being sexy, but HOW TO GET HEALTHY my friend! --Love and Light~OLGA

Artist Reply: Olga...all what you said here is correct..I also suffer from asthmatic bronchitis at times...I very much agree and know, from my experiences, that antibiotics is only in term of infections /inflammation. Not every fever is inflammation,or need treatment of antibiotics...And there are other treatments for allergy. The sexy part of the subject, is a joke based on the reality of my everyday cough, which sometimes very easy cough..but sometimes can be difficult...especially ,if I'm having attacks....but I asked myself this question, lately...only lately..it was NEVER really a problem to kiss while cough :-) but of course better without the cough. I also take vitamin C 1000 mg at times that I'm taking..it's difficult to swallow it's too huge !!! And after all..I learned to live my cough, it's part of me...and those around me, know it...they sometimes say things about it...But it is ME, Not sure if it really can change. love ~ light..NIRA
Artist Reply: PROTEC KID Syrup also...it's natural, and it really help when it's not too difficult cough, at least to me :-)..It's amazing for sneezing attacks also. THANK YOU!!
