Tern Lake Pastel

Chalk Pastel on Vellum paper, 9X11 inch. This is from my last visit to Alaska. The colors in Alaska are so beautiful! It is hard to do them justice in a photo or painting. This one is my first attempt at a landscape in Pastel. I am sure I will do many more… Thanks for visiting, and happy painting :) Dixie

there is a wonderful softness in the pastel texture that compliments the striking colors and stark landscape.
