Daoming Si (Doumiyouji)

Portrait of Taiwanese actor/singer Jerry Yan as Daoming Si from the drama Meteor Garden, based on the Japanese manga Hana Yori Dango by Kamio Yoko. The background is watercolour and the slight colour in his eyes/lips is thanks to the coloured versions of mechanical pencils

Hi Karen Great work! I am absolutely taken in by those piercing stares from Dao Ming Shi/ Jerry Yan rendered from your art. The shadings at the face was excellently contrasted, while the firm renderings of the mouth further intensified the steely stare.My only comment would be the hair - which you may want to take more care in the shading. My passion lie in portraits-drawing. ..and I happened to be one great fan of Jerry Yan. Had no inkling that Jerry Yan / Meteor Garden is also well known in the west?
