This is the house that goes with the
garage painting. It's my friend's lovely
saltbox home, which really stands out
against the Vermont snow. Size 12 x
16. Oil on canvas.
Thank you for your kind comments, I love your work. This painting is wonderful, perfect house, perfect snow. (Your friend could sell his house on the strength of it.)
Artist Reply: Thanks Tracey. I'd be very sad if my friend ever sold his house, it has just as much charm inside as out!
Your work is amazing. You capture the mood of aging architecture with grace and
exceptional photorealism, a genre of art that suits you well. At first the barn window and Justus's House look like a photograph and with further viewing your exceptional talent as a painter is revealed in all its splendor. What a charming
scence of a great house where it seems that time has stood still in this serene and peaceful ambience. I love how you evoke feeling from the viewer, a testament to your talent. This may look easier than it is to create a beautiful representational painting with your wonderful sense of color and composition.
Artist Reply: Again, Julie, thank you so much. I've spent some wonderful times in this home. It's a warm, inviting, place and when there was the possibility that my friend might sell it, I had to paint it for posterity! Fortunately he has not let go of it yet!
beautiful house and beautiful painting. love the red against all the black and white. and you captured those snowflakes perfectly without looking like a Christmas card. They just make a wonderful texture on the dark building.
i love the realness you bring to the painting, it gives it depth and emotion.. when i look at this i see my grandma's house... the trees covered in snow and the untouched on the ground. I believe if a painting can draw emotion, than the artist did an amazing job.
so, long story short, your painting is amazing. =)
Artist Reply: Thank you so much Adrienne for your praise. It's wonderful to know that there are people out there, like you, who can relate to the mood and the feelings I'm trying to get across in the painting.
