General Banks and the Burning of Alexandria 2007

General Nathaniel Banks retreated through Alexandria, Louisiana in 1863. Whether under his command or not, the city was burned to the ground. The Old Courthouse and the Catholic cathedral are pictured, neither of them were around at the time, but rose from the ashes of the city.
