c. 2007 Fractals. Leviathan is a name used in the Old Testament for any great sea or land monster, e.g., the crocodile, either as an actual creature (Job 41:1), or as symbolic of a nation (Ps. 74;14); a larger serpent (Isa. 27:1)..information from Bible Dictionary.
