South Georgia Barn

Connie, a good friend, commissioned me to paint her father's barn. I first painted it in color, but it seemed more appropriate in sepia tones. This is the result! The Zoomed Up is the first watercolor version. Copyright 2007 Dell Belew

Both beautiful. I like the color best.

Artist Reply: Thanks for the vote and the compliment, Minnie. I generally favor color but this one doesn't do as much for me.

the sepia version has an old fashioned feel about it,lovely work

Artist Reply: Old fashioned, that's what I thought, too. I'm a city girl myself but I'm primed by television and movies to see the country scenes of the past in more monochromatic images---watched too many westerns in black and white as a child. [Better be careful; don't want to tell my age!! LOL)
