This was done in 6 2-3 hour sessions with a live model. It was my first full figure nude. I was really looking forward to that day expecting a lovely female as the model. Talk about dissapointment. To make matters worse the only spot available was front and centre. After standing there a few moments I realized I just wasn't prepared to invest so much effort and time to this perspective. Just couldn't do it. With the instructors help I finally persuaded the folks on the end to let me squeeze in. I am satisfied with the results of this rendering. I definitly prefer drawing the female form.

Nice study from life, where did this anonymous viewer learn to draw his criticism is harmful. This drawing is rendered well and very clear without ethnic overtures.

Female form or not, this is still a good drawing.

Front and center is the best place... Why should you be at all nervous... the model is the nude one... I had only a single female model for my Figure Drawing cl#@& and was rather upset.

Very nice. I love the play of light, and the posture and the slight 'beer belly.

Life drawing cl#@& is so much fun. You have done a great job with this subject, nice touch of highlights, really look reflected

I don't see any censoring Joel, perhaps it's just on the thumbnail?

Dawn Landrum 06 Dec 2003

This is great. I don't know what you mean about them censoring it. Nothing shows and it is in good taste unlike a few others in here that were erased by artwanted.

use of lights and darks is really good--you've got the form down on this one :)

This is incredible! You are very, very, talented! I'm wondering if you used a live model here. Seems to need a floor to wall room line or something, though. And I agree that a shadow may be nice, but this is good as it is.

That is Really good I just wish you put a Shadow under the chair and behind , his foot shadow etc it would be amazing..Not that it isn't just missing that something
